it must have been very scary, mine usually bring up some fragments when theyve had bones but theyve not been ill, if they ever are it will really put me off giving bones, i actually think the wings & chicken carcasses are the easiest to digest they rarely bring those back.
Alfie vomited some bile at 4 am, but i fed them at 9am, and so far they seem fine. Much happier in themselves aswell.

Their poo's are really crumbly and very hard to pick up though.

Im going to go for chicken wings next, but ill leave them a good few days, and possibly until my book has arrived and ive actually read it.

They can have a carrot today.

Not yesterday

Alfie had about 7 poos, all solid. I think he ate too much bone.

I will do.

This incident just highlights the need to do more research.

Alfies now on my bed, rolling around on his back. So i think he's feeling good.

Re: Raw feeding - didnt go quite to plan.

I have been raw feeding for over a year now and am weaning the puppies on raw, the best source of information I have found on the net is the yahoo group BritBarf the owner of the group is Derek Turnbul and he has written numerous articles on different aspects of raw feeding, also the group is a wealth of information and it's members have mostly been raw feeding for years they are never judgemental and always there if you have a question about raw feeding

God that sounds like I am a sales person for BritBarf lmao

Re: Raw feeding - didnt go quite to plan.

If the poo's are crumbly you are feeding too much bone. Try tinned sardines in tomato sauce or tinned tuna (drained and rinsed of the brine) or tinned pilchards in tomato sauce. Also tripe is a good one as well, gradually you will learn to balance their meals to achieve Nirvana - solid, well formed, nicely coloured poos

never thought i'd be asking this should the poo be firm but soft then or just firm?

Re: Raw feeding - didnt go quite to plan.

Its OK, raw feeders always discuss poo's
They should be firm and not white or crumbly. If it is runny you need more bone if it is crumbly you need less bone. I give mine a dessertspoonful of pureed veg with their meals everyday. I just puree up the stalks and leaves of cauli and broccoli, a couple of carrots, some left over apples that nobody will eat and mix it up with a tin of chopped tomato's. Then I put it into yogurt pots and freeze it, then just take one out of the freezer the night before when I get their brekkie out for the following morning. Once you are organised and in a routine it is dead easy.
They sometimes do regurgitate bone and stuff until their tummy acid gets stronger and dissolves bone, they will just eat it again, sounds eugh to us, but it is something they do. Nothing to worry about, my dogs come from 5 generations of raw fed dogs, and I can honestly say it is the best thing for my 2.
