Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

Well said Deb.. This is not a situation to be taken lightly.!
And dundee has give the best possible advice, If others feel thats to harsh then tuff.
I to hope that we get good news and that for me will be that the bitch has been giving the miss mate, Saying you dont have it in you to mismate is thinking of your self not the dogs

Oh and animal lover i agree with the miss mate in certain situations and this is one x

Hi I wasn't objecting to the advice dundee gave as you said it was sound advice, it was the face that after Rona's fisrt post I agreed it is best to have her seen by the vet. It was the added extra's that was in there that we not nessasery I have been on to my vet and my trainer this am, the trainer as she knows sox very well so wanted to put her in the picture of what was happening, so I have sought he advice as suggested in the first post xx lisa xx

Your dog might be in good health.!!!!!!!! But like others have said you dont know what the male dog was and she might have problem giving birth naturally.!
And then you will have to have an emerancy c-section

I do think that every one should stop being quite so sensitive when they ask for advice on here, they are likely to come across people that through their own experiences and lack of detail on a post, may react rather strongly.
On the other hand Dundee you've done it again, I know your advice is nearly always 100% but couldn't you please stop putting posts that are seen as personal attacks?
Lisa, please keep us informed of developments
You may need the expertise of one or two members if Sox is pregnant

Sooner have the type of advice that Dundee gives myself then any other kind! Blunt, straight to the point, matter of fact call it what you like!!! Certainly NO minced words from our Dundee!!!! And at least people take notice! Better imo then pussyfooting around and being mis understood!

Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

I cant comment on the situation, as i know nothing about breeding or bitches for that matter, as ive never owned one.

All i can say is that i would advise you not to palpate your dogs abdomen. Unless you know what you are doing, and what exactly it is you are feeling, then it could be dangerous should she be pregnant, and futile unless you are experienced.

As you are doing, i think the vets is the next, and best, port of call. Until you know what situation you are dealing with, its all just a guessing game. I hope you do go today though, as if it is a pyo, you want that dealt with sooner rather than later.

Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

Lisa i know you live 5 minutes away from me due to a conversation before.!
So if you want to PM me i can give you some details of a vet that imo is very good with pregnant bitches but will tell you how it is.!!!!
Unless of course your happy with your vet and the decissions he makes

Yep thats right, I spoke to her this morning, I am not going to type the entire converstaion out, but I explained everything that has been happening since she last saw sox, which was 4 weeks ago. She is happy to see me during next week, in her oppinion it doesn't believe she is in iminant danger. So I have an appointment to see her early next week. xx lisa xx
