Loopylisa I have no desire to make anyone cry, you have been given advice and choose not to take it. Ad is right, I don't know the full story, so can only go by what you write here. There are two possible life threatening risks here, pyometra, as Rona suggested and a possible pregnancy to a dog more than twice her size at an age where she is really too young to have a litter. You have been given advice to get her to the vets asap and your response was

The vet visit should be because you bitch needs it, not for your curiosity - and I'm sorry I can't see anything funny about it.

At a time when dogs are being pts because rescues are overflowing, breeders are unable to sell their puppies and dogs are being handed in because owners can no longer afford to keep them, you think it best to bring more pups into the world.

I have no desire to see you upset, but perhaps you could put aside your feelings and put your poor bitch first? She is now in a position of risk - please get her help asap and the place to get that is not a forum, but from your vet. Besides, vets will not be openly judgemental so you will get the help you need there.

I will not post again, so you can come back and I'm sure there will be plenty who will support you and coo over the puppies when they arrive. I wish your bitch well, but be under no illusions that she is too young and possible too small to have an easy time of this, so you will need to be extra vigilant and get her all the professional help you can.

I don't want to contradict myself but that was a very good post

I know I was being playful with you.

The advice that has been given to the op has all been good and she is taking her girl to the vet, who will be able to ascertain what the problem is and give appropritate treatment and advice.

Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

I said I was going to be taking her to vets, I said if it turned out she is preg then I don't know if I have it in me to missmate jab, I didn't say the responsibility is my childrens I assumed they were ok in my garden surrounded by a 6" fence with the dog, wasn't blaming just explaining what happened. I said they are 3 and 4 they are someone else accidently said 5 yr olds as mistakes DO happen. I was curious if you could feel anything my feeling her tum, I didn't say she is going to vets cos of curiosity sorry if I didn't write that sentenc clearly. I said right from the start when Rona responded that I was going to get her seen by vets. I was not deliberaty not taking advice given I was saying I am not sure I have it in me, we all have to face things that go against what we feel.

Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

Why dont you have it in you for a miss mate jab? Do you have it in you to rear a little of pups and then rehome them all to 5star forever homes.!
Beacuse you may have read some threads on her lately and welping a litter is not easy.!

DD what does the miss mate jab actually do?as i know people who are for and against it.Maybe if the op has some good info on the jab she may consider it as an option if her dog is actually pregnant
thanks

She has been sck a couple of times over the last few weeks but nothing to write home about. Well the last 2 nights on the trot she has pooed in the house over night, we are putting her out at night like we usually do, I just don't know why, is it an indication she isn't well or just one of those things, and how best to deal with it. Is it likely something to do with the phantom, or should I be worried that its not a phantom afterall!! Really don't know what to do, any help and advice would be most most welcomed xx lisa xx

By the was she is 17 months old
Have just read through this thread and obviously you are getting upset about the way Dundee has responded. Your original post was not a casual chit chat over a cup of tea it was asking for help and advice. What Dundee has put in his/her (sorry new to this forum ..not sure...please excuse) answer is 100% correct. The risk of pyo is high, the chance of pregnancy to a male that is way too big for her can cause many life threatening problems to her and her whelps etc etc

If Dundee had come back and said " don't worry love things will be ok" then you would not be throwing your toys out of the dogs bed but because of good, sound, common sense advice that has upset you.

If you didn,t want to hear the advice wether it good or bad but for the welfare of your dog why post on here? You mentioned something about having friends on here ...well a true friend would tell the the truth not dilly dally over it and sometimes THE TRUTH HURTS.

I hope your dog sees a vet today and hopefully you will come back and give us good news.

Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

I think for the sake of the dog it is best if all personal differences be put aside! Things are said harshly because people care. As I would expect Dundee has one again given excellent advise! I have never know her to pussyfoot around ! and what may sound blunt can infact be life saving information! rather then worrying about how it was said I think the best thing you could possibly do now is to see your vet, sooner rather then later!
All the very best
regards
DT
