Re: Sox pooing in the night...why

why are people so mean - this poor lady came on here for advice and you have pushed her way - this it not what this forum is about surely - I am only new here myself - and I must admit there are some posters on here who seem to "jump down people's throats".

Accidents happen with dogs and children will be children- but my dog can open doors and believe it or not slide bolts - she has got out on several occasions - I now have bolts at the top of every external door!!!!

So, if the dog is pregnant, yes there will be pups, and yes, more pups to home, but the owner is not daft - and didn't need to be called irresponsible - I think an apology is in order.

she didn't let her dog out unattended in the garden her silly 5 year old son did
Whoa - so the responsibility for this lays with a 5 year old???? To be fair to Lisa, I don't think/ or at least hope she wouldn't expect a 5 year old (although she says 3 and 4 year old) to be responsible for the care of an inseason dog!

Loopylisa I have no desire to make anyone cry, you have been given advice and choose not to take it. Ad is right, I don't know the full story, so can only go by what you write here. There are two possible life threatening risks here, pyometra, as Rona suggested and a possible pregnancy to a dog more than twice her size at an age where she is really too young to have a litter. You have been given advice to get her to the vets asap and your response was

I am going to take her to the vets anyway that would be for my curiosity lol
The vet visit should be because you bitch needs it, not for your curiosity - and I'm sorry I can't see anything funny about it.

At a time when dogs are being pts because rescues are overflowing, breeders are unable to sell their puppies and dogs are being handed in because owners can no longer afford to keep them, you think it best to bring more pups into the world.

I have no desire to see you upset, but perhaps you could put aside your feelings and put your poor bitch first? She is now in a position of risk - please get her help asap and the place to get that is not a forum, but from your vet. Besides, vets will not be openly judgemental so you will get the help you need there.

I will not post again, so you can come back and I'm sure there will be plenty who will support you and coo over the puppies when they arrive. I wish your bitch well, but be under no illusions that she is too young and possible too small to have an easy time of this, so you will need to be extra vigilant and get her all the professional help you can.

Absolutely, and it's the casual attitude that is upsetting. There could be considerable risks - pyometra has also been mentioned and the OP is only going to take the bitch to the vet to satisfy her 'curiosity....LOL'

and I didn't say she was, I said there was a strong possiblity!
