As you may or may not know Zipper and Lilly are both 1/2 shih tzu, I was wondering how long it takes to grow a long coat on a Shih Tzu or similar breed.
I have no idea if Zipper or Lilly are long coated as I Clip them about every 2 or 3 months.
However I'm curious to know if their coat would grow long, so I'm tempted to leave them a bit longer, but how much longer would be enough to know if their fur grows long?

Ben's a springer and i think his took about 6months to grow back, i'll check this in the morning then i'll call her

My friend's not shaw she think's they kind of go in to a fluffy ball ball if you no what i mean

I know with some long coat breeds it can take up to 12 months for a full long coat to come through some are even longer.

It just depends on whether you feel you can bare living with brushing their coats through every day to keep knots at bay etc...

If you have clipped them their coats wouldnt look the same if you grew them long now, it would be very hard work as it would be much thicker.

From my grooming experience, if a dog is kept long it will usually have a full coat between 12-18 months dependant on the breed.

my springer's was back in about 6month's maybe it is a breed thing
