Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

I think I've decided the name Milo, but time shall tell to see if he suits that name while I see him at his current home, and when he comes home with me.

Top 3 are: Luca, Milo and Riley.

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Hehe xD

Shall be more pics next week
They said he's 5weeks at the minute, and they were in the process of doing their 2nd worming I think, and also he'll be wormed before he comes home.

Just need to move the cage, also will Zeus get jealous of the puppy having the cage, as Zeus does sometimes go in the cage to sleep, but then he also sleeps on the lounge floor and sneaks up onto the leather sofa when the lights are out hehe.

I was thinking of getting a vetbed for him and just placing it on the floor where the cage is, but I'd like him to have a proper bed, but well one that will last lol, very hard to find nowdays.

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

he looks lovely, i remember going to see Max at 4 weeks old and he was so cute. well to be honest i have no idea which of the 11 choc puppies he was as they were all identical but they were all cute!!!! you'll find he may destroy a lot of toys as labs are strong chewers. ours have the extra tough chews and kongs.

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Got back not long ago after seeing them again, and have more pictures

They're currently feeding the puppies on Purina Beta Puppy, and they'll be coming with 6weeks free insurance. They didn't think of getting her eyes done, as this is their first and last litter, so they are new to it all.

She's 5 years olf and I can see anything wrong with her eyes, unsure if I'd be able to tell by looking at them personally, or do you need a special machine?

Anyway, on with the pictures:

He seems to have got lighter.

No you won't be able to tell anything. The tests are carried out by a canine opthalmologist and require special equipment - even a general vet can't do them.

IMO there is no excuse for not doing them regardless of whether they are having one litter or ten. It is irresponsible breeding.

An eye test only costs about £35 so I'm surprised that they haven't had that done, but have had hips done which costs around £150. Not only is there no excuse, but I'd also be worried that they had the eye test and the bitch failed, and are now saying it wasn't done. I also think 5 is too old for a first litter.

Obviously it's up to you, but personally I would walk away.

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

It's too late to walk away now.
I know that the father has clear eyes. And can't i just get the puppy tested for his eyes when it's suitable to get it done?

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

make sure pups been wormed every two weeks from the age of two weeks and date of when next need doing, i put this on an info sheet that goes with the pups, always something you may forget other wise. Also i have microchipped pups before if potential owners have asked for it although dont know why cos you have to register it in the breeders name then they have to change it to theres at a cost of 15 pounds so cant see the point but hey there you go lol.
