Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Just got back from the people with the Labrador puppies

It was there first breeding and their only breeding of their female Labrador, she was extremely friendly and welcomed us into her home and to see her puppies.

When we came in they were having something to eat but soon after they finished they started playing and exploring.

I saw the light boy that I said I'd be interested in, had a lil chat with the owners and show a picture of Zeus. The man then got the females papers, fathers papers, female's family tree, fathers family tree

One thing me and my mum noticed on the females family tree, was that her father was from the breeders that we saw in the vets recommended breeders book So that was a plus.

The female had low hip scores, but she hadn't been tested for clear eyes, but the father had been.

I picked two out of the litter, a light brown (peachy) boy and the light boy. Took them outside to see the colouring better, then my mum helped me compare them both, and took one away while I played with the other and vice-versa. The man did point out that the light boy had a scratch mark from where mum had scratched him, he said he thinks it'd fade away, but he also did have a lil scratch on the end of his nose, which he didn't mention but it was very small.

In the end I decided to go for the peachy boy, mainly because of that scratch, he seemed alot more playful then the light boy, and also the light boy was very whiney when picked up and puppy growls while cuddling.

And here's the picture of my boy:

His unique name is Goldenharn Glider *I can't remember it exactly as excited has overcome me at the minute *

I put down a £100 deposit and only have £350 to pay, I can view the puppies whenever I want, aslong as I ring before hand. We spoke inside about dogs etc, they were very nice people. The female was a gundog at first but has over the years become more of a family pet.

And they should be ready for collection on Sunday 28th June

But when I go back next week I'll see if I can extend that date or not

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Hopefully going back next week, so I'll take my camera and see if I can take some more pics and possibly a video if the owners will allow it.

Sorry to put a downer on it, and I realise you've made your decision, but was there any reason the bitch hadn't been eye tested?

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Nope they didn't give a reason, but then we didn't ask for a reason. I can always ask when I go back next week.

Re: Going to see puppies on Saturday.

Hehe, not the colour I intended for but I'm happy

Just trying to shop around for stuff now and try to find the cheapest place for items.

I can get a vetbed the size of a large cage for £11 and then £3.50 for P+P. So I'll get 3 of those in different colours, I bought a medium none slip bowl yesterday, now I just need to buy the toys, collar, lead, flea treatment, puppy treats.
