Unhappy crying puppy

hi, I was just looking for a bit of advice really.
my neighbours have just bought a husky puppy who is 7 weeks old (too young in my opinion) and they have been at work since 8 this morning and wont be back til after 5. they have left their pup locked in the utility room and he has been crying non stop ever since they left. no body has been to check him or let him out for a wee. they have 2 other huskies but these are in a run outside so he obviously cant be with them and the male goes for him anyway.
It is bringing me to tears listening to him. I dont want to fall out with my neighbours and really dont know them well enough to say much to them as we have only been here a few months

Re: crying puppy

I think thats terrible. At least one of them should be home with the pup at this stage. Why buy a dog if you have'nt got much time for it????

Couldn't agree more! I don't think you should leave adult dogs for that length of time, let alone a 7 week old puppy.

Re: crying puppy

Could you maybe mention you could hear their puppy crying and ask if he/she is ok? Show your concern in a nice way?

Yes, I shall try and do that-we have a 7 ft hedge between us so its a bit hard but I shall let you know! Its so sad He is still wimpering and I darent go in the garden for fear of setting him off further
I totally agree, none of them should be alone for that long I can hear one of the adults thowing itself against the wire for the first 15 mins or so when they go out. They spent 3 or 4 days at home all day with the pup completly spoiling him and then all of a sudden hes left to his own devices.
I feel bad for leaving mine when I go food shopping!!!

I am exactly like you. I have to take sugarpuff to the vets tomorrow for check up and first injections. Leaving my eldest son with all the others but I will still make myself ill rushing home to make sure they all ok!!

Re: crying puppy

If you're unsure how to approach this subject with them is there another neighbour that could help you that knows these people better

Re: crying puppy

Blimey that is awful!

So who is feeding him his 4 meals a day? And in this heat in a small room full of poo and wee!

The RSPCA would love to hear about that i am sure

OP i am sorry to have been no help at all with the advice, just noticed! A calmer person will help. All i could visualise was a crying, hot, hungry puppy with no comfort and i ranted. Sorry

No, people round here seem to treat dogs like they are inanimate objects-seriously
the bloke we are attached to has an english bull terrier and I only know this because I had to drop round a parcel, she never, ever goes for a walk doesnt get to go in the garden for more than 10 mins and is also left for hours on her own (maybe there is a medical reason she doesnt have walks but she is really fat)
The couple on the other side of my neighbours with the huskies also have 2 huskies which are also kept out all day but are at least walked. Apart from that there is no body, we live down a very quiet lane in a village and I think we are seen as the outsiders (when we had a small fire and the brigade came out they all stood in a little gang and watched but none bar 1 came to see if we were ok even tho I am pregnant and we also have a 12 month daughter-sorry going off on one!)
Im not some weird dog police I just work part time after maternity leave so have a lot of time to kill that and Im always out with my dogs so notice these things
