Re: crying puppy

That is so unfair on the poor pup

We have just got a new pup, she is 12 weeks old. She will be coming to work with me, but not untill she's had all her jabs. I have got a few days off work now to help her settle, but I am also leaving her alone for short periods to get her used to it, and when I go back to work (which is 6 hrs 3 days a week anyway) I'll be coming home for an hour in the middle of the day to let her out for a wee, feed her and play with her.

If I couldn't get back I'd find someone that could pop round. I'd hate to think of the state of the poor thing when they get back from work!

I hope they get it sorted, please keep us updated!

Your pup is so lucky
Well, I have been in the garden twice this morning first time it was quiet but second time he is crying again
Its so frustrating and spoils my time in the garden too coz I find it upsetting to be so close but not be able to do anything
I'll see if anyone comes home at lunch but as far as Im aware the wife doesnt drive

When some one comes home I would suggest mentioning to them that it is crying all day. They might not realise it's making a noise. (it is still wrong though that they leave a pup for this long) We had a dog that suffered with SA, but we didn't know (she was always ok when we first left her, we couldn't hear her when we first went out or when we got back) Our neighbour eventually told us, in a not nice way that she was making lots of noise when we went out. As soon as we found out we started taking measures to stop it, which we did in the end. But if she'd told us sooner we could've dealt with it straight away!

Maybe suggest that you could pop round, like some one said before.

Yes, I shall just ask if he is ok and tell them that he is screaming his lungs out non stop all day and see what they say. I will offer to check him for them but like I already said we dont know each other so I dont know if they would want me in their house, even if it is just a key to the utility room

Re: crying puppy

It would be better if the pup could be where it can see and interact with the other huskies. And then i twouldnt be messing in the house as well. It does need feeding at lunchtime though. Would it be worth having a chat with them, rather than criticising say that you have heard the pup crying and how lovely they have a pup and how hard it must be working all day so would they like you to let it out and play with it and feed it. They might be feeling really guilty about it, maybe they had organised a dog walker that let them down and they might be over the moon if you offered to do it.

I agree with this.

And if i was them, and really good about listening to a neighbour dealing with this, i would be happy for that person to come and check on my dog. I wouldn't find it offensive or anything either really. And this way you might also form a friendship with your neighbours.

I was going to say if your neighbours don't feel comfortable around allowing a stranger to come into their house then offer to take the pup to yours, but then again Blitz mentioned the other adult huskies too, it wouldn't be fair to separate them all.

Re: crying puppy

too hard to decide to solve that problem! your neighbor is insane. how could they just lock the puppy inside? well just try to talk to your neighbor nicely.
