Re: crying puppy

Perhaps go over and tell them your concerns.

If they aren't able to come home for a bit to feed him or let him out for a bit in the day then if you are at home, suggest they ask someone to come and check on the puppy.

Re: crying puppy

Gosh, that is awful!

I would be exactly the same as you, not wanting to say anything to upset them but I would be worried sick.

I agree with ad_1980, I would offer to check on the pup yourself, not that it's your job but at least it would put your mind at rest.

I also agree with peppa pug, if this continues then you may have no other choice to contact the RSPCA

Re: crying puppy

thats not the best situation! our dogs are left while we go to work but when Brody was younger i only worked part time so someone was always here!

they might feel bad about it and welcome the help if you offer! but like you say if you've not been living nextdoor long they may take this the wrong way!

sorry probably saying this doesn't really help! good luck and keep us posted! would contact someone though if it carries on! and keep a check as to when they are out! it could be only 1 day when the puppy is left that long??

Re: crying puppy

A puppy this young needs to be fed around 4 times a day... how are they managing that if they are out all this time? I would report them.

Re: crying puppy

before you report them talk to them first. Maybe they are first time dog owners and they don't exactly know what they are doing is wrong.

If you go to them and tell them your concerns politely maybe and hopefully with any luck they might sort something out. If they don't take what you've said seriously then i would report them.

No, they arent first time dog owners as they have 2 adult huskies too.

I do feel bad I dont want them to think I am interfering as we really dont know each other we just say hello through the hedge occasionally and the odd sentance or so.
I didnt get to speak to them this evening as my OH was at work til 10 so had our daughter and woofers to look after.
I shall see what happens tomorrow and whether he gets left all day again as this was the first time but their normal routine is leave 8am (ish) back 5pm (ish)
Unless they have several automatic feeders I dont think he will be getting 4 meals. The only other thing that worries me is if I do say something and nothing changes then I will have to take it further and they will know it was me which will make things very awkward-especially when the leaves fall off the hedge!
I will let you all know what happens tomorrow

Re: crying puppy

Yeah but you gotta do what you gotta do isnt' it, for the sake of the puppy.

Good luck, let us know how it gets on.

Re: crying puppy

Well I just think they are cruel and unfeeling people to leave a young pup on its own all day. And shouldnt have got a pup if they dont have time for it , poor little thing .
