Thanks to the advice from the lovely PF people on my other thread ('should I foster this dog?'), I have decided to go ahead and foster Bruce for two months starting on Tuesday, straight after my friend returns from hols and takes home her dappy boxer

I took him out for a long walk today for the first time in a while and he was uber exuberant and had far too much energy to burn off! He's ready for a structured day and some serious clicker training! Bruce's owner is absolutely delighted with the arrangement and she feels that she can tell her daughter about it without breaking her heart.

I'm really pleased that I followed my gut instinct and went ahead- with a gentle nudge from you guys! Hopefully the family will have the time they need to spend together now, in granddad's final weeks. Bruce, Selma and I are going to have great fun and I genuinly feel that this going to work out really well for everyone.

I am so glad you're helping your friend by taking on her dog for a while. I am sorry about her circumstances but i am happy that Bruce can still be happy. So yay And this way your friend can still see Bruce too. It would be way worse for her if she gave Bruce up and was never able to see him ever again.
