We continously hear bad stories about SBT 's everyone seems to look down at us now we have Poppy i have been told im not a responsible parent because we have brought a SBT into our home, people avoid us the list goes on.......To be honest i get sick of it none of our dogs are aggressive and we are responsible pet owners and im a very responsible parent.Iv got to the point were i feel i have to explain about Poppy and other SBT's to every Tom,Dick and Harry!!
Anyway im just wondering how many other people/dogs have been attacked by other breeds of dogs(other than bull breed)Are people scared or unsure of any other breeds of dogs??
I mentioned yesterday we have a local lady who has 2 very viscious Yorkshire Terriers but just because they are Yorkshire Terriers its ok for them to be out of control which to me is not fair had it been 2 SBT's something would of been done!!
Sorry to rant just getting really fed up of all the negativity about SBT's!!
I have learnt from an experience never to judge these dogs just by their looks. I was taking two of my pups through the rugby field yesterday. I looked down the field and there was a massive sbt sniffing around on his own. His owner seen me and called him but he did'nt listen to him. The dog did'nt notice me and my pups and my mobile phone went off. He turned and looked noticed me and my pups standing there and he pelted towards us. I shite myself thinking this is it hes a nutter. When he got to us he was'nt even aggressive. My shihtzu puppy freaked him out and he run back to his owner. So it'll teach me to be less judgemental towards these dogs in the future

Funny you should say that i had a similar experience. I was at a skate park with Bess and a couple of mates, when a blue and white staffy appeared. He was off leash and was very muscular. His owners were what you would think the type that got it for a status dog, and for being aggressive. Anyway the dog stood staring at me, ears forward, wide stance wide eyes. It ran towards us, Bess bared her teeth and the lil mite slammed to the floor, licking Bess's face etc. He was such a cutie and his owners turned out to be lovely!

My boy went for his first ever walk with another dog on sunday, he was as good as gold. Not even a grumble, and hes a nervous dog.

I havent raised him to be aggressive, and i also wont tolerate it.

Yeahh the Rotti has a more powerful bite than a pitbull. But to be honest, that isnt suprising is it ? given that a Rotti is normally twice the size ? I think the national geographic tested a mastiff which then had a bite force of over 500 pound, because the dog and its head is bigger again.

I think makes a dog protential dangerous and used in "dog fighting", ect a dogs agressiveness and willing to fight, and gameness. So hence why a pitbull is seen as more a threat then a bullmastiff for example, even though the bite force is only half.
