Just an update..

My brother owns a builders yard next to a scrap metal merchants, he went back last night after shutting up because his son had left his bike there. Upon entering his yard there was no sign of the dogs managed to get his sons bike, locked the gates managed to get his son in the car upon trying to get into his drivers side he saw that the dogs were loose, they went straight for him, luckily his son had the sense not to get out of the car just had to sit there watching his dad get pulled apart by the dogs. He finally came of surgery early hours of this morning, both his arms are heavily bandaged and strapped up in the air, he's being transfered to another hospital at some point today to have skin grafts so he is in a pretty bad way. He also has injuries to one of his legs. The doctors have said he's quite lucky that he's as big and fit as he is because someone maybe not quite so strong or someone much smaller in stature to him probably wouldn't have survived such a nasty attack. Were now waiting on news on what action the police are going to take and obviously waiting for the press to get get details of the attack, like I say it will more than likely be on the news at some point or in a local paper (W.Mids). But as far as I am aware both dogs were still loose when my brother was admitted to hospital (

Thats awful... but in a way it's a good thing it was your brother as his attack will probably save a childs life or someone weaker as it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen and now hopefull this will be prevented from happening again. Hope your brother is recovering well... send the Magik mans get well wishes.

As far as I know it hasn't hit the news yet, but no doubt it will sadly because of what breed the dogs were and the severity of the attack. Once it does or if I hear that it's going to I will post again. If and when it does I will be interested to see whether the news reports actually mention the dogs were guard dogs. We all know what the press can be like and although I'm angry that a member of my family has been injured in such a way that was completely avoidable, on the other side of the coin I know the press just love stories like this

OMG - I am so sorry Nicci to hear about your bro and his son. The poor boy will never forget what he has seen. How is your brother now? It sounds like he will be out of action along time. On the plus side thank God he managed to get his son in the car as l think he would have died in the attack if they had got to him as well.

I still have'nt heard anything about it in the press but its only a matter of time.

One of my neighbours over the road has the most powerful looking rotties l have ever seen. He weighs 14 stone and is as vivicious as they come. He is definately an accident waiting to happen and to top it all he has just become a father to 10 rottie pups.

Don't get me wrong l love all dogs but some owners are just not cut out to have such a big powerful breed. He is a 62 year old male and has already been badly bitten when he tried to separate his dog attacking a spaniel. The spaniel needed vet treatment by the way
