Boxer Puppies

Hi there,

I have recently put a deposit down on 2 week old pups but on the basis I can choose the actual pup when they are 6 weeks.
I asked the breeder about health screening and she said the dam was checked by the vet and is heart clear. I asked about hip and thyroid screening but she said this is not done in boxers.
does anyone know if this is correct?? from what i have read there should be more health screening tests.
The sire has also been heart tested clear. Do you think i need to see the heart test papers for the dam???

Thanks

Re: Boxer Puppies

If you email the breed club they should tell you what health tests should have been carried out and what the results should be. I would get both parents results in black and white and any good breeder should be happy to give you these. Minimum apparently are hips, elbows, eyes and heart testing.
