Toy poodle owners - advice needed - or its ok if you're not a toy poodle owner lol

Nothing bad as such. just once again my sister is being a grump but i really don't want to listen to her because she is so annoying so i'd rather listen to non annoying people

Anyway i just came back from taking the dogs to the park. Mika was well.....terribly wet and yucky because its obviously been wet and was raining earlier. I didn't think it would harm me or him to take him to the park. But when i got home he was wet and mucky, obviously and also shivering.

My sister thinks i should've taken him round the block instead of to the park. Did i do something wrong?

I gave him a foot bath when we came home and blew dry him so he seems ok. But should i have really taken him to the park in the wet conditions?

Some dogs live outside, I dont think a bit of water and mud will hurt!!

Why cut your dog's walk short just because of a little rain? he isn't going to shrink!
If he was enjoying himself then why not, and you dod warm him up after

Zeb loves the rain and mud lol It's hardly a proper walk for him unless he rolls in some muddy puddle! x

I dont see any problem i go out in the rain with them , and both the dogs love playing outside, what ever the weather they are in the garden often getting very wet and muddy

well it wasn't raaining at the time..it was just rather wet and muggy. My sister thnks i shouldn't have taken him to the park int hose conditions because he's too small and of course he was cold and shivery.

Re: Toy poodle owners - advice needed - or its ok if you're not a toy poodle owner lo

Oh for goodness sake, it's a dog if he enjoys a walk in the rain or wet then let him have one just dry him when he gets home. Anyway he would have got just as wet on the pavement maybe just nt quite as muddy!

Back to the old theme of you are doing the work, she's telling you are wrong, I assume she didn't think he should actually go out for a walk?

If he gets cold then a coat will help otherise just wrap him up when you get home and get him dry - we use dri-dog bags (or their equivalent) when our dogs are wet and they just lie there and go to sleep - saves wet dog everywhere

I've taken Oscar out in the snow! I've got a coat for him but he doesn't actually need it atm. How about a coat for Mika?
