Ha ha Freyja - just spray her in perfume instead! Gosh I am so looking forward to this... Thanks

Thank you everyone else, I really will not be having my pup done unless really necessary!

Re: does neutering/spaying really alter red setter's beautiful coat

spaying or neutering will ruin a irish setters coat
your breeder is right.
i know from experience , it will ruin the coat
as for a male running off because he is not neutered, rubbish
start training him at a early stage and he will be fine
all you need is patience and regular training

I think it is a red dog thing, we have the same problem with Tollers some coats 'blow' completely and you end up with a fluff ball some don't - we are lucky with our girl it just got longer and glossier

Re: does neutering/spaying really alter red setter's beautiful coat

dont know if it helps i had my oldest chihuahua spayed nearly 2 years ago she is red and cream but since she has been done she has grown lots of new fur on her bum and back legs feels like puppy fur very soft and its quite a light red compared to the rest of her coat have to say it havent taken the nice shine/gloss out of her coat
(very different breed but just thought id add )
