Re: Pet Insurance

i don't bother with Pet Insurance anymore ,cause think about it!? if you save all those premiums your paying and instead put them in a your own doggy bank account ,just imagine how much you save if you don't have nothing happen to your dog! and if you do you have got the money in the account to go to
And if your lucky enough for your dog never to have anything wrong with him you've saved a tidy packet!

Re: Pet Insurance

and just for instance Garry what if your dog ran infront of a car and that car hit another one - and say they were both Mercedes - and there were 4 occupants in them and all were injured and both cars had extensive damage - where on earth would your average person find enough money to buy 2 Mercs and pay compensation to the injured parties. Insurance isnt only about vets fees. It maybe highly unlikely that the above would happen but we arent all wealthy business men like you ya know
As far as vet fees are concerned my friends pup has just had a devastating leg infection - caused probably by an abcess they think - the pup is not yet 6 months old and vet treatment so far is £5,000 - the pup was in the vets for 4 1/2 weeks receiving operations, skin grafts etc - and she's not finished yet even though she is home.

Re: Pet Insurance

I've got my cats insured with Animal Friends for £11 a month for their Gold Cover. they work via E&L and "are the only UK pet insurance company to donate 100% of our net profits to help animal charities worldwide." They also offer full lifetime cover and the amount that your animal is insured for is per condition per year - not just per year. They have already paid out when my cat hurt her leg and had a x-ray no questions asked. I would recommend them.

my dogs are never allowed to run near roads off there leads
I was only showing another option to pet insurance jo

Re: Pet Insurance

The vet wont give a toss if you're insured or not Garry - he knows he's gonna get paid whatever happens

Glad to hear your boy is doing good bless him - what kind of health issues can bullys have?? I'm not right up on other breeds

I wouldnt dare not have mine insured - I know so many people who's dogs cruciates have gone and a TPLO is £2000 per leg

All responsible pet owners should have insurance imho. Our Westie has had treatment and so far that has cost about £3000...so if I was say putting away £20 a month in a doggy bank that would take about 12.5 years to save for ??
