Has anyone seen it? Any views on VS?
I remember the episode where she advised a family to have their spaniel pts after he bit the daughter, I haven't been able to watch one of her shows since because that left such a bitter taste. I didn't feel that enough avenues were explored before she advised euthanaisia (you could even say that she scared the family into making that decision), I cried for a week wondering how many people might have seen that show and made the same decision If anyone has any info on that particular case, that wasn't edited into the final episode cut, and can put my mind to rest I would be very grateful

I think I saw the spaniel episode too- it was a cocker spaniel wasn't it. They had two spaniels didn't they and they were food thiefs. They sorted the thieving problem well and she advised them on a better diet for the dogs.
The issue was that one of the cockers, previous to Victoria being there had badly bitten one of the daughters for no apparent reason- I think she had to go to hospital because of the bite.
During the episode in the stage where Victoria goes away and they have to enforce what they have learnt the same dog attacked/mauled another of the daughters and was completely unproked.
They spoke to the vet and it was suggested that the dog may have been suffering from rage syndrome (a genetic disease sometimes found in cockers- which causes a sudden out-burst of aggression for a few minutes which suddenly stops- the dog often acts very confused afterwards and is completely unaware of what had happened). Rage syndrome I believe can be managed in many cases with drugs, however, whether this case was rage syndrome I don't know? I can completely understand their concern though as having attacked a child twice for no reason it is a real concern. I do feel sorry for the poor dog and the child though as at the end of the day it was neither of their faults.
