Re: Starting to worry now...
The breeder wants extra money for her to be K.C registered, which I believe many breeders do - as we only want her for a pet there is no need for us to have papers.
She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I'm going to ring the breeder tonight to see if I can see the pup with her Mum at the weekend and also to see the Father in the flesh so to speak.

Re: Starting to worry now...
Sorry Dundee, meant to add this to the pic - I spoke to her tonight and she said that both dame and sire have been health checked. I can see their records apparently when I pick up my pup. I have a list of questions to ask her gained from Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Health & Genetic Diseases

Re: Starting to worry now...
I would be careful - health checked is completely different from being health tested.
The thing with all dogs, but especially cavaliers who do have a number of health issues, is to ensure proper breed specific health tests have been carried out. They should have all the certificates which show results and personally, I would also double check on the KC website as this is available to the public. It has been known to wave a test result sheet at a potential owner, only for them to discover later that they weren't health tested after all, so do double check everything - don't take the breeders word for it. Any genuine breeder will understand entirely why you won't take them at their word and need to check. It may be worth asking for the results before you visit. Breeders rely on the fact that once you have seen the cute puppies you will not walk away. Quote:

Re: Starting to worry now...
i agree with the others, puppies are born with an under developed immune system, allowing potential owners to visit whilst they are so young is very risky, i personally dont know any breeders that would allow this. Its also incredibly stressful for the bitch.
