What would you do if you bought a puppy from a pet shop.......

Not that any of us knowledgeable dog owners would ever do, but if any of you DID, hypothetically and you learnt from another person why you shouldn't buy a pup from a pet shop, what would you do? Could you bring yourself to take it back?

no, i couldnt send any dog back to that environment regardless of the ethics of funding pet shops selling live puppies/kittens.

I would however learn from my mistake and pass the knowledge on to family and friends

I have heard of pups being sold in shops but i never saw a store with puppies in it until a month before we came home with Mika. There were two puppies and i think they were CKCS' but not 100% sure....they were in the spaniel family though. But anyway my sister and i went to buy Dante a bone and casually asked how old the puppies were. The guy went '8 weeks' these puppies were far too tiny to be 8 weeks. Maybe 6! But yeah that was the only time i've seen a pup in a shop being sold like that. I'm glad we had brains and knew not to buy either of them. this guy didn't know what he was talking about obviously and i would not buy a pup without knowing anything about it either. But if we were to accidentally buy one no way in hell would i take it back!
