Just when i thought id seen it all...
I was walking home from the vets with Oscar, and there is a half wooded, half open bit of land leading up to my backgate, and its very popular for people who walk their dogs around the block, as they can go offlead.
There was a woman with an offlead westie, who was chatting on her mobile, and as i dont trust westies around other dogs, i kpet mine on a lead. Well this little beggar made a beeline for Oscar and started yapping and running around him.
The owner seemed too engrossed in her conversation to even notice (i bet she doesnt scoop the poop either) so being a bit peed off as Oscar decided that if this little hairy thing wanted a rough game, then he was all for it and was being a git on the lead. So i yelled across at her, expecting her to come over and get control over her dog, but no, she pulled out of her pocket a clicker, pointed it at her dog, and proceeded to click it repeatedly.
I dread to think what my expression was like. It looked like she was using a remote control and trying to turn the dog off.
In the end i just had to carry on walking as she made no effort. I normally stand and wait and allow people to get their dogs on a lead, but this situation was a joke.
Im flabbergasted that a person hasnt researched the training method they have chosen, or not chosen in this case.
