savannah is on a distinguished road
Savannah had her 1st puppy class!

Well took Savannah training class lat night!!!!
My goodness she was excited lol! She gets so excited anyway seeing any person or dog bless her, so all in the same room was like wooooooopieeeeee!!!!
anyway, we did on lead training, sit, stay, is fine, heel is naff.....too busy trying to catch up with the dog in front! or checking the dog behind lol!
She hasnt managed the "down" command yet! doesnt get it, and the more u try it, she goes into avoidance mode lol! ......guess we'll leave that for another day!
She did good tho for her 1st go. It was a good laugh watching all the puppies.

Off lead time was funny. Shes never had opportunity to play with another dog, and she just loved it! Spent the whole class waiting for that moment lol. She found a jack russell boyfriend, and ran all over the place with him! He certainly took a fancy to her!!!
1st time i've ever seen her worn out!..........just through the excitement of it all! roll on next week!

Re: Savannah had her 1st puppy class!

My dog is a year old now, but I remember the fun we had at her first training class.
It is SO enjoyable. And they do wear themselves out with excitement.
Keep it up and she will soon reward you with the things she has learnt.
Daisie had bronze and silver awards by six months, and the rosettes are now proudly displayed in our house.xxx

This brings back memories my 2 current springers havnt been to training classes, i took our first one as i hadnt got a clue about training, he, like the others on here loved it, didnt do too well though if ime honest he was the best with the recall cos all he wanted to do was be with me. . . a real mummies boy, so while all the other dogs were laying and staying and had advanced to allowing owners to leave the room while they stayed down, monty layed down but i was still at the 2 steps backward away from him stage and he was still sneaking on his belly to me.

The last night of the class was the test to see how good they was and were split into groups and Monty came 4th!!!!. . . . What a shame there were only 4 in his group he did get some biscuits and a rosette ,think that was for just being a good attender he never missed a session Bless him. Monty was p.t.s last may and i treasure that rosette.

I'm glad you both enjoyed it

I remember going with Louie, he was very scared for the first few classes but soon got more confident, especially when his best friend in the class was a bullmastiff pup.
