Question Taking Dog Abroad

Hi im new here, my first post so sorry if i mess up in anyway or have posted in the wrong section.

Im looking for some advice, i am thinking about moving to canada in the very near future.

Only problem is i have a 1 year old staffy.

Does anyone know the process i would have to go through to be able to take my dog with me.

Obviously my dog means the world to me and if she is not able to come then i wont be moving anywhere.

All i seem to able to find is more information about bringing her back into the uk after being abraod rather then the actual getting her to Canada.

Any info will be fantastic.

Thanks for your time

Re: Taking Dog Abroad

You might have to get her rabies shots I know my friend had very little problems bringing her 4 dogs with her to the us.
This might help: Canadian Food Inspection Agency - Health of Animals - Importation of Pet Dogs

Re: Taking Dog Abroad

I know how you feel. I'm not sure if procedures are different now. But i can relate. I lived in another country before moving here and we wanted to bring our Japanese Spitz with us but we didn't want to put him in quarantine for 6 months. So we gave him to a very good friend of ours.
