Thumbs up Calling all Lancs / West Yorks Lads and Lasses!

Eh up!

I thought it might be nice for us to swap our favourite walks, so that we can get out and see more of our beautiful counties (no red v white roses scwabbles please lol)

When I get the chance I like to go a bit further afeild and vary our walks, but I'm running low on new ideas. I'm always a bit reluctant to just set off with OS map or tourist info map, because I like to go to areas that are dog friendly - ie, avoiding livestock, roads, railways etc. If you feel the same, perhaps sharing recommendations from our own experiences is the way to go!

Would it be possible to create a social group for this? I don't know how to do that yet. Would anyone from lancs or yorks be intersted if I work out how to set up a group?

Has anyone from other parts of the country already done this and can offer suggestions?

Please let me know what you think.
Cheers, AD xx

oooo oooo this is me, All our good walks are a bit tame at the moment because Henrick is just a ickle baby but when he is older I would love to know about some longer, more interesting walks. I am in West Yorkshire (Huddersfield). I think it would be lovely to have a pet forum meet up and dog walk one day.

Hopefully a few people will be in touch and we can swap some corking ideas for all lengths and types of walks. Yeah, a meet up would be good too

I'm interested!!!! I live in East Lancashire, not too far from the Yorkshire border..... Skipton and Keighley are a stone's throw away from me, and there's some beautiful countryside around where I live

I'd like a PF meet up

Re: Calling all Lancs / West Yorks Lads and Lasses!

i dont have a dog, but i am a in scouting and i know that a lot of scout sites let people on for the day just to go walking. all you have to do is say hi to the site warden so he knows that you are on site and how many of you there are for fire purposes.
my fave site is great tower, which is near bowness on windermere. it has amazing walks up to great tower rocks and there are quite a few routes so you cant really get bored
