Would It Have Been A Welsh Springer?

Hi, hope someone can help me. this morning while out with my two English Springers, a pup and its owner came along the pup was off the lead and from a distance thought it was an english springer until it got up to us, it was 16weeks beautiful well behaved puppy, but i noticed its face was alittle different from the E.S , had a lot of white the coloured patches was very fair, i didnt want to offend the owner in any way by asking him what breed it was so i said how lovely it was and that i had only seen E.S in liver or black.

He then said that the breeder said they called the colour lemon, i then asked if it was a welsh springer but he didnt know i find it a bit odd surely you would know whether your own dog is english or welsh, so just wondered if anyone knew if the colour lemon was a colour in the welsh springer breed.

Im very curious as to what type of spaniel it was.

Re: Would It Have Been A Welsh Springer?

It could have been a welsh or possibly a working bred cocker, these look so different from show bred dogs

Re: Would It Have Been A Welsh Springer?

Well, i reakon you should be able to work it out by asking it to bark, if it barks in a welsh accent then you know for sure its welsh, and similarly if it's bark is something like Prince Charles, its bound to be English...lol
