Question Does your dog like or dislike trips to the veterinarian?

We have shared our lives with a number of dogs now, and about eighty percent of them enjoyed trips to the vet. But the twenty percent who did not enjoy it had very strong opinions on the matter, to the extent that we dreaded routine visits.

Sola does not mind visiting the vet, but she still manages to get us in to serious trouble every time we go.

How are your dogs at the vet?

Re: Does your dog like or dislike trips to the veterinarian?

Both of mine are absolutely fine.

Tyler went to have bloods took to be sent on to the AHT,he just stood there tail wagging while the vet took blood from his neck. After it was finished he gave them all big staffie kisses and earned himself a couple of treats from the vet and nurse

Meg went in with Pyo last year and again was fine,I thought she may be a bit wary going back for post op checks but she was fine and gave the vet nurse kisses and cuddles. She rolled on her back to show off her stitches lol.
The nurse commented on how rock solid her temperament was,and what a lovely natured dog she was.

I had my Nell at the Vets the other day, she sat under the chair and refused to come out looking at me with her best sad face, the one were I go all soft on her, sadly it did not work that time, she shakes from the time we go in and then all the way home in the car, poor thing.

I read your Blog, it made me laugh alot

Jasper loves it.. any excuse to go out in the car, and go somewhere!

Poppy's just as keen to go out, and when she went in to the vet when she was having difficulty giving birth, the vet commented on how friendly she was... even on going back in the next day with the pups for checkups, and again 2 weeks later.

They both just enjoy company, and going anywhere. Even to the vets!

He never showed signs of being nervous - he waggled his tail, whinged in the waiting room for a cuddle from everyone in there and tried to jump at them - but he he did wee and he's fully trained, so I think he is worried. However, when we pop in there for food or a toy, he goes mad with excitement. He only wees in the vet's treatment room.

Daisie loves the vets. She went this morning to have stitches out from a lump removal on her back. Dispite them having to draw out fluid from the wound, she was as good as gold. She always does a tiddle of excitement on the waiting room floor though.

Re: Does your dog like or dislike trips to the veterinarian?

My 2 love the vets - when they were puppies I used to sit in the waiting room training them and playing and the nurses would take them to be weighed and sit them on the table so they think the vet's is the best place to be now.

However both hate going into the nurses room as they know that means they'll be getting their nails cut, and both hate that.

But they always try to pull me in if we are walking past.

Monty loves the vets! Mind you, he loves anywhere with people and the potential for being fussed!
