Re: Vaccinations
Go to the vaccine companies websites, they explain their protocols and you will find that some don't recommend the whole lot every year, its done on a 3yr basis with different bits being given. Lepto is the one for every year especially if you are near water or in the country - your vet should be able to advise you.
ASK QUESTIONS don't just accept which is why these discussions are so good. Everyone has an opinion you may not agree with it but that is your choice.
I would say tho' that if you can manage to wait with your pups then give them time to settle in your house before you vaccinate - too many take them to the vets virtually as soon as they get them and then are surprised when the pup isn't a happy chappy.
I would also resist with an ill puppy or dog or if there were ill dogs in the house and also avoid with very elderly dogs, if you use kennels then get a letter from your vet to say why you haven't vaccinated.
I vaccinate, the titre tests we had done told me one didn't need to be done, one was OK and one needed jabs NOW despite the fact that the dog had only been done about 9mths previously. Apparently for the titre test to work the system has to have been challenged so the antibody levels rise, if it hasn't then they don't.
