Puppy vaccinations

My Shih Zhu puupy is 10 weeks old. She had her first vaccination at 8 weeks and the vet booked her in for the next at 11 weeks. For various reasons I asked if this could be brought forward to tomorrow (she will be 10 weeks old). The vet said this was OK. However, I was talking to a friend today who said she lost a puppy through side effects of a vaccination which was given too young. I am now wondering whether I should leave it for another week. Anyone had any problems with side effects of vaccinations, and any thoughts on the best age to give them Jasmine was quite small at 8 weeks, but grown a lot and is now quite big and sturdy.

Re: Puppy vaccinations

My pups have always been vaccined at 8 and 10 weeks.
Dave had his 1st jag at 7.5 weeks and his 2nd will be at 9.5 weeks.
When he gets a little older he will be getting microchipped too.

You also have to think about it.. Dogs die from other stuff too.. and I bet its a VERY low percentage of puppies who have died from vaccines. Her pup may have taken a bad reaction to the vaccine.
And I'm sure the longer you leave it between the 1st and 2nd jag would make it less effective.. I had a pup who had his 1st jag, then I got him 6 weeks later went to get his 2nd jag and had to have the 1st one again before the 2nd.
