Re: A common thief!

I do try and keep in under control, but he is very very sneaky

He walks so well on lead and there are times when you forget your troubles and just enjoy the outdoors. It is then when when my little t. leaf strikes

Worse thing he stole at 5 months old, a fisherman's sandwich as we were walking along the canal!! Needless to say he got away with it since the fisherman had a good sense of humour - thankfully.

He looks so pleased with himself when he has won his prize!!!

Re: A common thief!

My old JRT used to thief all of the time!

if we left our coats on the back of chairs, he'd be in the pockets pinching whatever was in there! He also used to steel my dads fags (not a bad thing) and rip them all up! One time round my nans, she had left her shopping on the table to be packed away, we looked round only to see him jumping down from the table with a steak in his mouth!

Unfortunatley, Ben never grew out of his thieving ways - but looking back now, it was really funny! - but not at the time!

Re: A common thief!

The first dog we had has was a rescue dog,he used to steal food and would not eat unless he thought he was pinching it.
He was a stray for years so probably had to steal food.

He was so clever,he worked out how to open cupboards, the fridge etc.
I was doing our sandwiches one evening for school and went for the cheese,it wasn't there Dad was annoyed,he told me he had brought a big block of it,so he came to investigate - no cheese but a nice piece of clingfilm stuck to the kitchen floor.
He also had the ham which was quite salty and eat that, and drunk loads of water,he then cocked his leg up Dad's bed during the night

In the end we had to get fridge locks, cupboards locks, the works

It started with him stealing a workmans trowel as we walked past a few months ago. I heard someone shouting 'Missus', behind me and saw Luika happily cradling it in his mouth with his tail wagging. Obviously we gave it straight back.

He has since taken a child's ball, bread from the ducks, a bread roll from a neighbours shopping bag and today he made off with a large marrow bone while we were down the town. Luckily I caught him today since I wondered why people were pointed at us and laughing!!! I had no cash on me, so couldn't pay for it, so made Luika give it back to the nice stall holder.

Does anyone else have these problems?

He sounds fantastic - the image of him running off with the workmans trowel made me smile. i love that kinda attitude. My Bocek was a nightmare for stealing (usually chocholate) if he could get his paws on it. he has grown out of it now.

It's getting that way with Luika right now

Met his brothers owner on Saturday at training (we are doing two at the moment), and she said that all the litter she knows of seem to be extremely intelligent. I'm just wondering if he can fix our computer tower and fridge

Well, the manufacturers are making a meal of it, perhaps he can do better
