Oscar is 9 months old. When I first got him, I used a finger toothbrush and puppy toothpaste to get him used to having fingers in his mouth. He used to eat the toothpaste (!) and didn't fuss but as time has gone on, he's become more resistant. Occasionally, I can hold his jaw open and have a look (everything is fine IMO) but he won't let me near him with a toothbrush. Should I persist with the toothbrush or leave it be?

(At his last vet check-up, the vet said Oscar's teeth and gums are healthy.)

Do you brush your dogs teeth?

Yes I do brush my 15 month old bitches teeth, she doesn't seem to mind.

When we are brushing our teeth in the morning she sits watching so I tend to do hers then too - with her own toothbrush and toothpaste.
