Going walkies

Just curious, how long do you walk your dogs for everyday? How old are they and what breed?

Thank you.

Re: Going walkies

Anywhere from 3/4 hour to 1 1/2 hours. She is a 14 month old Labradoodle. Only thing is - I walk, she runs!

Re: Going walkies

About 2 hours off lead everyday. Got 4 cross breeds and 1 JRT ages range from 2 to 15. 2 older boys are getting to the stage of needing less exercise but the 1 time I tried to leave them at home they apparently barked the place down, so they come along and do what they want. Can't live without my chuck-it otherwise 5 year old poodle cross Sidney would need at least 5 hours a day!!!

Re: Going walkies

40 mins in the morning and 1 hr+ late afternoon during week and probably more depending on where we go on a weekend. Incorporates both walking on lead and runs off lead.
Mollie is a ridgeback x staffi about 18months old.

Re: Going walkies

We do between 1-3 hours a day and I do about 5-6 miles...they probably do about 3 times that as we practice recall most of the way, they also have started swimming too which is great if I'm not feeling too well.. it means they get the exercise but I don't over do it.

Re: Going walkies

1 hour usually over the park our local park, isn't a very good one - usually kids over there etc, so we tend to use the sport field :d

Re: Going walkies

I have to admit that mine get about 30 mins running time a day, the rest is just playing in the garden and the house. They do have access to the back garden all day though, so I don't feel too bad.

We tend to do long walks on a weekend, but walks are a touch shorter since our son arrived (roll on warm weather)

Re: Going walkies

I have Cavalier King Charles he will be 9 in march.

week day about 2 hours - the school run x 2 on lead and an hour or so off lead in the local park or football fields then a 20 min walk on lead about 9 pm. He is also in and out the garden all day.

Weekends we spend hill walking, at the beach, out on the loch so he comes along. Can be anything between 3 and 6 hours.

Re: Going walkies

cocker spaniel.

2 x half hour per day ( 1 of those off lead). He is still a pup so am being careful not to over exercise him. Looking forward to being able to increase it.
