Question Need Help Pleaseeee asap

Hi all,

This is my first message on this site so not sure how it works.

I'm buying a 7 month old female dog from an owner who can't keep her anymore due to moving arrangements.

I'm worried that she is selling me the dog due to health problems or some other problem I'm not aware of.

Is there anything i should be looking out for or looking for when I go to see the dog? I really don't want my first experience to be a puppy that dies after a day or two as i'd hate to see an animal die.

Thanks

Not really, I just been hearing about lots of different experiences bt people and it kinda got me worried and scarred.
So just thought if I at least know some of the signs to look out for I'd feel better about it and will be sure that the dog is def okay.

Hi Welcome to the forum
.
What breed of dog is it?

Are you buying it or is it free?

Is there anything you have noticed with the dog that you have doubts about?

Would they let you get it vet checked before you take ownership?

OK
It is actually a little different from buying a puppy as you are not going to be able to see the pup with the litter and neither of the parents. I thonk we can judge pretty well how an older dog looks by both it's appearence and its behaviour, What type of dog is it by the way???

Re: Need Help Pleaseeee asap

If the dog have underlying issues whether they be healt of behavioral you are not very likely to pick these up when viewing,
For example the dog COULD (not saying it has) have a sensitive stomach,, you could ask about diet and toilet habits ect but you only have the owners account to go on. Also you will more then likely be told the dog neither chews, soils the house nor barks excessily, again this could be something that would only come to light when you have the dog.

Don't please take this the wrong way - the dog could be perefect - try to the the interations between dog and owner,, i.e does it look scared/relaxed/confident/agressive. Also you should ask if the dogs been vaccinated.

will comment more when know the breed

Be sure you find out what the dogs current diet is as any change would probably upset him

Hi and welcome to the forum..You could allways ask the person you are buying the dog from if its ok for you to get the dog checked over by a vet before you actualy agree to take it on permantly.

If they are wanting to get rid of it to a good home because they cant keep it they shouldnt really charge you. If they are simply selling it, you should get a contract that states if for any reason the pup does runs into a serious problem they will refund in full or part pay to the costs - say within the first 6 months or year or so?
