Re: german shepherd

Sosialise him as much as you can as early as you can because they can get spooked easily, mine is scared of lorries(anything big) and he was never used to children. Just walking round a town and getting people to fuss him, including kids(they'll want 2 hes a big ball of fluff I should think!) and keep doing it as he grows up. Also get to a good dog training class as early as possible to combat the stubburness and they make great loyal, obediant, soppy pets.

alot of exercise and working with them on a daily basis should calm him down, the main thing is to get the disipline in so that you can control them when they are being nutters.
it may be a good idea if the kids are confident to let the older ones train him at the classes or at home so that they learn to teach a dog and the dog learns to listen to them.
if you have an agility class near you as well, that may be an idea, as it means they have to learn and do exercise at the same time(some things on an agility course are not really suitable for dogs under 6 months) and it really is alot of fun.

Good Luck and Good Fun

Re: german shepherd

Reward your puppy for everytime he doesnt shy away at anything , try and keep as relaxed as you can with every situation . If you get stressed then so will pup .
With mine i took them every where i possibly could , socialise , socialise , socialise .
I can still take all mine everywhere without having to worry , its the best feeling in the world .
