Re: Castration Costs!!!
I think the last time I got a dog castrated it was about £250.00, this was for a rottweiler.
Both my dogs have been castrated/spayed but Sausage was done by The Dogs Trust and Mash was already done by her previous owner. I do believe that getting dogs castrated/spayed is the best thing to do if you are not wanting to breed, but that is just my opinion and I know others will disagree. I for one certainly do not want to be responsible for any unnessary puppies when there are so many unwanted dogs/puppies already.

Re: Castration Costs!!!
Sorry not going to go into the rights and wrongs of castration again.
But I do know the cost at my local vets which is a rural mainly big animal clinic is around £100 for a male castration (medium size dog) and £150 for female. Obviously all depends on the animals size. I've never paid for mine as they are all rescues, except Sidney who unfortuately his ball's didn't drop so his op was abit more involved, luckily my vet know's I help out rescues so didn't charge me for his time so I only paid for the meds. ![]() |

Well my vets said it would be £140 for Brodie and £180 for Holly don't know if this is good or not as both my mums labs are entire males!!! Seems every vet is really different - Might try a couple of others for comparison!!! Thanks everyone!!!!

Re: Castration Costs!!!
Pugsley was about £75 he had one testicle that hadnt come down and said would be more (£95) if they couldnt locate it but they got it and all was fine.
It was best thing for Pugsley as one of his testicles was abnormal and didnt plan to breed him anyways.

Re: Castration Costs!!!
I would definately shop around. Mine charged £110, plus £10 to remove an umbilical hernia. but anaesthetic was by weight and as she weighed 30 kilos it was a little more. I did get her hair and nails cut beforehand to try and reduce it though!
