Re: Poodles

Thanks I'll look at the pictures when i can access the sites - some are blocked at work.

We are possibly hopefully going to get a toy poodle, we are looking into it at the moment.

Question - not thats its such an important thing but looking at pictures of poodles their fur looks quite rough. Are they really that rough as they look?

I hope we get one soon. My poor dog at home is quite lonely since our cocker spaniel passed away

Re: Poodles

Good luck with your search for a poodle.
Poodles are such great dogs, i love toys right up to standard size.
I have poodle crosses and so i have the best of both worlds.
I also know alot of poodles and their coats are very soft.
Good luck

Re: Poodles

Thanks guys. Regardless of how their fur feels we still would've got one anyway - i would never judge a dog by how they feel really, its more important that we get a dog to love isn't it? I'd just find it strange to feel the roughness of the fur because all the dogs i've ever owned have had such soft smooth hair. But thanks for the heads up.

My sister and i have found a couple of breeders - the pups are 12 weeks old though...hopefully that won't matter. We'll let you know how we get on if they are any still available

Re: Poodles

I'm jealous!!! I promised myself my next dog would be a 'proper' poodle (I've got Sidney who is a pretend poodle) ...might have to wait cos I snuck number 5 in last October so have to wait for the dust to settle first!!!

Lovely picture, anyone got any standards? They are my favourite.

Oh and my Sidney looks like a brillo pad but it's like lambs wool when you touch it. Needs daily grooming but worth it in the winter when he has a full fluffy coat!!!
