Kya's picky eating! advice please!

Hi all
As alot of you may already know me an my OH (crazybones) have just got our first puppy,Kya.....just wanted to know if anyone had heard of the food called NatureDiet???
Kya at the moment is settling in well but feeding is slighty awkward. She was being fed on puppy dry food(before we got her) but doesnt seem to be very interested in it, she has little bits then walks away. Am i right to think that maybe she is just a little bit to young to be on dry food?
Personally ive always put my past dogs onto wet gradually mixing in dry and eventually going onto dry completly. she is on Nutro puppy lamb and rice....but i have been mixing it slightly with water as i thought it was too hard for her, but it doesnt seem to make a difference. i dont want to be switching foods all the time...there is a nutro puppy wet food. I want to sort this as early as possible. She is 8 weeks old.

Anyone with the same problem or advice would be grately appriciated

Lianne x

Re: Kya's picky eating! advice please!

Hi, when mine were pups I used to soak their dry food in water to soften it before giving it to them.
If they didn't eat it I would take it away and try again in a couple of hours - never made a fuss and they would soon gobble it down if they were hungary.
Dry food can be a bit hard for young pups.

What I would try is a beefy gravy that you can soak his food in, and they generally tend to like it. Also after some time you can gradually do away with having to use the gravy, good luck!

Hey Lianne,
My pups are tiny comapred to Kya and mine manage dry kibble with no problems maybe before you take her off the nutro completely maybe you could try her with their mini puppy diet instead as that is tiny stuff, I know I used to feed mine Nutro once upon a time. it's in a pinky purple packaging.
have a look at their website it's Nutro Pet Food - finest foods for dogs and cats. they may have a help line or something were you can get advice or een get some samples of the mini range. Just an idea.

take care

Sarah
