Itchy feet

Just got back from a lovely walk at the canal, sun shining, catkins bursting out everywhere, birds singing etc. etc.
Alf is now going loopy as his feet itch, poor little boy still had pads as soft as puppies when I got him as he hadn't been exercised, they seem quite hard now but he still has a lot of trouble with the itch
Anyone else's dogs have mad itchy moments after a walk

Re: Itchy feet

Hi, if the ground was wet that may make his feet itchy.. my old lab x used to get itchy feet if I didn't dry them and use baby powder

Re: Itchy feet

Zipper some times comes in from a walk and nibbles and licks at his feet for a while - great tip with the baby powder PoisonGirl.

Re: Itchy feet

This is scrapping his feet on the floor, his bed has just gone flying across the room and he's tangled himself in the curtains
I think there must have been some baby stinging nettles in the grass

poor chap - I once fell into stinging nettles when I was a little girl wearing shorts and a vest top - ouch. Not nice. If he has sensitive paws he must be feeling miserable. If you think thats what is is I would give him a piriton.

He doesn't need any more, I think he gets fed up with them sometimes, he gets so many
He's settled now but paws are tucked underneath and he's got a pained look on his face

Fleur
This happens all the time so I'm not worried, he just gets in such a state for a while. He's ok

Have any of the fields been sprayed where you were walking Rona, Slug pellets will be going down now, and pre emergent weed killer will be being used by farmers as this can be sprayed all winter
regards
Sue

ps - dogs do absorb through their pads as I am sure you know

Re: Itchy feet

No, canal is beside a river that's been in flood, farmers would be mad to even try at the moment
