Bad Breath

Morning all,

Monty our Bichon has gone seriously bad breath.

He's 6 months has lost his baby teeth and has new ones coming through. Is it normal for such bad breath at such an early age?

We've checked his mouth and all seems fine, there are 2 small black spots on his gums that were not sure of.

Any advice wouldf be great.

Thanks,
Darren

Re: Bad Breath

Small dogs are prone for bad breath my vets says its because of the small mouths food gets trpped in places you wouldnt think, my male chi...was the worst!..and his food was building up in a hole at the back of his teeth like you i cheacked and couldnt find anything I would take to the vet they soon find out they got mirrors that can see right at the back.

Ps i bought every thing out there for bad breath too!..didnt work..

Yes the smaller breeds can suffer more with bad breath and bad teeth. But some times bad breath can be due to what your dogs eating. What food is he on out of interest.
