Re: agression!!
Shes good as gold towards me, prob because im the one who feeds her lol.
Well, she will grow out of it hopefully. She is a big loveable gentle thing when she is settled. Love seeing her first thing in the morning. Makes me sooo happy lol

Re: agression!!
If you don't know her history she may of been mistreated by a man in the past. And now she has settled in maybe suppressed behaviours are coming out.
I would get your OH to feed, walk etc as much as possible to build trust. Must add that I'm only a pet owner not a behaviourist - So I would definately speak to an expert, did she come from a rescue could you speak to them for some advice? |

Re: agression!!
Both my sheps jump when anyone comes in they are 18mths old, and bark but they dont bite or anything just get really excited, after me holding them for 5 mins they calm down and will go and smell the visitor then lie down , and are fine , they even do this with my oh when he gets up in a morning as he gets up later than me, im trying to stop them but its going very slow.

Re: agression!!
I know a lady who had a GSD from a pup and her and Cola used to get along great, then when she was about 10 months old she started attacking all the dogs in the park (Cola included) and nothing worked so she has started taking her to training classes or a behaviourist I dont rightly remember ... We dont really see much of her now as she tends to walk the dog very early or late as many people have complained but she seems to finally be getting better but its been a long and slow process.
I know every dog is different but you really need to work on him now as it may well get out of hand and they need good social skills ... please look for behavioural advice from someone qualified. |

Re: agression!!
My dad had a rescue gsd and she was terribly abused by a man did the exact same things yours does my dad made sure that he fed her and played with her etc and any male visitor who came to the house used to wait till she was calm n then give her treats.
Maybe you can tr these things?x |

Re: agression!!
She wasnt from a rescue dogs home as such, but we got her off a guy who had rescued her from someone who wasnt trating her good, but he has too small kids who were scared of the dog, and he didnt have enough room in his house too, so we got her.
She has been fine today so far though When she gets excited, she does go jumpy and hyper, but it was the snarling and growing alongside it yesterday which was pretty scary.
