Terrier Fan - I am definitely considering another Jack Russell or cross breed!
Catz - I have actually been thinking about a chihuahua but they are so small! I wouldn't want my jack russell squashing him/her!  Do you think a chi would be ok?
Pommum - thanks, I am thinking wisely and definitely doing my homework, hence the post... I take my dog for 'free-runs' a couple of times a week around the mountain side and she is fast, I don't think a Pom would be suitable. I would never get a dog which I knew from the start would not be suitable to live with my JR.
Louise, a Parson Terrier... very nice. They'd definiely be compatible...
