Millies story

hello,
just thought i would share millies story

about 4months ago, me and my partner moved house and had to hire a skip, about 3 days after the skip came i noticed ther was a box lead next to it (thought it must have blow out of the skip) when i got over there to my horror the box had 5 puppies in it, no older then 3months old(not sure who left them or why) I went to pick the box up when all the pups jumped out and ran, tryed to call them back but they all run in different directions.
I went out every day with some puppy food to see if i could grap the pups and bring them home, was getting close but could never quite get them. over the next couple of day, other people in the area manage to grap some of the pups and take them home, untill there was just 1 pup left out on its own, i was getting so close, she would even fallow me to the end of the drive way, but no closer

As like the past 10 days i went to go looking for her, i opened my frount door and there she was fast asleep on my partners shoes!
I sat at the door step with her for about 10 before she came in to the house, she was so skinney and durty you could see every bone in her body, I wasnt sure if she would make it.

we tock her to the vets that evening ware they said she had a 50/50 chance. we were told not to spend money getting her wormed and flead as they realy didnt think she would make it though the night, but we had to we have 4 other dogs in the house, and i wasnt going to give up on her.
after about 5 long days and sleepless nights she made improvment.
she started to put on weight and build up some mussal in her legs, and im happy to say that over the last 4months she has gone from strenth to strenth. we had to teach her every thing, from cleaning herself to what toys were and how to play,
she is now around 7months and although she is a bit slow, she seems happy and healthy and we love her to bits.

we think she may be pure springer but cant be sure, her body is quite long if any1 knows about springers would love to know what you think, ther are some pics of her in my album.

Re: Millies story

Thats a horrendous story, surely in this country there is never any excuse for simply dumping a box of puppies, anything could have happened to them. If they were so terrified of people they must have had some bad times before they were dumped. Well done for showing her that some humans are nice.

Re: Millies story

Thx for sharing your story.
Sad but wonderful.
And how lucky someone like yourself found the pups and you have such great neighbours to all go looking for the pups.
Milly looks happy and healthy - sorry don't know much about the breed but she looks like springer to me.

can i ask what happened to the other pups? Do u know if they found homes?

PS u sound like an angel

Re: Millies story

i still cant belive we found them. there a helpless little life, done nothing wroge and they just get dumped, it not right. cupple of the pups were advertised in papper for good homes and 1 lives down the road.
millie still has night mares (i think) she welps and crys in her sleep sometimes, so you have to go pick her up and give her a good cuddel!

Re: Millies story

She is lovely, what a story she is obviously meant to be with you.
Springers can sometimes come across dosile and "is there anyone there?" kind of nature, but I can assure you they are very clever and very loyal, good luck!
