Hi,
Can anyone recommend good worming tablets for my dog preferably one which covers a wide variety of worms etc etc, my vet has recommended one but looked on the net and i apparently need a perscription, and you guessed it they cost a small fortune from the vets

Re: which worming tablets

I use drontal for one of my dogs. You can now buy it out of the chemist as well as the vets but the cheapest place to get it is online on one of the dog medices websites like pet meds or canine chemist.

My other dog gets panacur solution because she has a sensitive tummy when it comes to wormers. nothing else bothers her except worming products ... (You can buy it online too but if you have a large breed dog then it'll be harder to givebecause it's 1ml for each kg).

Re: which worming tablets

I use Panacur 10% liquid. As mentioned, 1ml/kg. Especially for puppies I mix mine up with puppy powdered milk, Welpi, they and the adult dogs lap it up. The liquid is much cheaper than Panacur tablets and can be bought on-line or at dog shows without a prescription. It covers most worms, including Toxacara and Taenia, and is relatively safe. My vet told me a story of how when he was treating a horse, he left an opened container full of Panacur in the boot of his estate car, and his Golden Retriever drank the lot with no ill effects.

I also use Drontal, you can get this from pets at home.
It is alot cheaper to buy online and the more you buy the more you save.
