Oh what the heck just go and get one - natter can.

It doesn't matter whether the the dad (sire) is health tested if the mum (dame) isn't and in any event even if both parents have been health tested the pups may have other issues that couldn't be tested for, simply because two different breeds have mated. That's the gamble with cross breeds.

What I'm saying is if its a cross breed you want then there is no point worrying about health issues. The only problem I have is the price is a bit steep for a cross breed that's just my opinion. I would expect to pay around £150. Its difficult for me to put a price on a dog because I've never bought one until I bought the dog I own now.

Seriously I think your mum should be helping you on this decision.

I would say that 450 has become about the norm for these cross breeds you see now unfortunately. Its not completely unheard of to get a cross for less than 200 but they are few and far between in my experience.

Have you actually decided to look for a dog and buy one as soon as you have found it, or is this something which is happening in the future?

Thanks for the update. I'm well out of touch.

Re: pug prices

I would ignore price, look for health check as that would be the most important thing for me, after seeing the documentary on pedigree dogs which had pugs in it, the health checks are very important.
I would worry that having a cross breed with a pug could add to health risk's but i dont know much about crosses. I know mungrels are ment to be in better health than pedigree's but i would not know when it came to crossing a pug.

well i have spent since before jully researching and now have a good idea of the type of dogs which i am looking at, either pedigree or cross breeds

these ar dogs like

papillons
yorkies
pugs
chihuahua

to name a few, however i am more attracted to them as cross breeds

and it is not up to me to find the pup and then me and mum wil discuss and contact the breeder and buy it, after visiting it offcourse to see the parents
