Mixing large dogs with toy dogs

What's your opinions/experiences on large dogs living with a toy breed ?

I am looking into another breed, and making a short list (have 2 breeds in mind so far) but would like to hear stories either good or bad

No, not a Weimaraner, it has to be a dog that my daughters can handle and from what I know/seen Weimaraners can be a bit hyper

Not got my mind set on any breed yet, am just in the thinking process
