Re: Mixing large dogs with toy dogs

Sorry my post was a bit mis leading, I had already decided on a Golden, and was hoping to go on Tashi's waiting list for her next litter - have watched this litter from day 1 and had fallen in love with one of the puppies, was only on Sunday night that Tashi said he was mine if I wanted him

I wouldn't have bought a Golden from any other person, have spent time with Tashi and her dogs and the tempermant on her dogs is 2nd to none, which to me, is most important having 3 young children and 4 smaller dogs

I really do feel its a privilage to own one of the Trebettyn Goldens and can't thank her enough

He will be my dog, but my girls very own "handling dog" up to now they have been handling Tashi's dogs, including the one and only Cloud, they have no idea about this, and will find out when we go to Tashi's on Christmas day for lunch

They have had a rough year, their dad moved out in April, my eldest son left home (Under not very good circumstances) Ellamay has recently lost her handling dog...having this dog will be the start to 2009 that we all need

So thrilled that you are lucky enough to be able to own one of these pups, I am sure you can relax knowing that you have a spendidly breed pup from a genuine person who cares for her breed . all the best to you and your pupster - keep them piccys coming!

I am looking into another breed, and making a short list (have 2 breeds in mind so far) but would like to hear stories either good or bad
I have a Rough Collie (20kg) and a Chihuahua (2kg). I manage the play as that can get a little too rough and Riley has no idea just how vulnerable he is.

I crate Riley (v.large dog crate) during the times when I'm not around to supervise, but overall, they get along great.

I think as long as they get on well it's no problem. Just supervise them at first until they are both comfortable around each other.
We've got an Akita (39kg) and a little Chihuahua (2kg ish). They are fime together.
