Depressed Dog

Hello again, just looking for a bit of advice for a friend

His dog has become a bit depressed, and really calm. she has always been quite hyper and bouncy.

A while ago she ran off while off lead and he panicked and has stopped letting her off exept once a day for 10 mins in an enclosed space

also my friend and his oh are going thru a difficult time and are arguing a bit.

She is 1 1/2 so could it be she is hitting puberty?

i told him it could be all three

advice please?

iv tried geting him to teach her recall again but he isnt confident as shes been hit by a car once. but she was off lead 2nite with my dog and was fine.

Re: Depressed Dog

IMO there is two likely reasons for the dog being depressed

* the lack of trust from her owner with regards to the lwad, i understand why he is doing it but he needs to give her her freedom back...if she has been hit once...she knows the pain and i would hope she'd hear a car and run in the opposite direction

* Secondly my brother's dog was like this when he and his partner went through a rough patch and split up, you'd be suprised what affect it would have on a dog, as much IMO as a child.

Good Look & Keep us updated hunny x
