Talking Something to keep me busy over Xmas and new year

I have just volunteered to help out at the dog home over the festive period and after, as they only have 32 spaces, 4 of which are usually kept for emergencies and strays.
I want to help out by taking in a dog who is likely to get stressed by kennels and it seems I'm not the only one who has come forward

I have had my visit and chat, they are happy that my home is secure and a stable environment for me to take one, possibly 2 dogs to look after

So.. now I'm just waiting to see what they throw at me! So far they aren't even half full so it might be a while. but I'm looking forward to it.

I know of a few people who will be getting a dog for xmas,(dont kno them well enough to advise against tho) i wonder how many of these will end up in kennels?? be good if i get to look after a younger dog

What a lovely gesture - well done

I would love to foster but it's impossible at the moment, because of the kids and also my bitch who doesn't like some other dogs.

Well done you! Thats brilliant.
Our nearest dog centre is 30 mins away, i would love to work there but dont drive so cant get there every day.
Me and the OH are going up every week and volenterring to walk the dogs, i love it done it twice now and not only is it good for me its great for the dogs...!
We are currently discussing taking on a rescue as a forever time, will post a thread soon, and are talking about fostering too...i think this option could be risky with me because i love them and get very attatched....
Wish there was more i could do to help...
