How Do You Look After Your Dog's Eyes?

Especially those of you who have dogs with light coloured or white coats?

Do you clean them with anything if they get tear stains etc?

Re: How Do You Look After Your Dog's Eyes?

Pippin gets eye bogeys as i call them!

I dampen cotton wool with warm water, leave it on the bogey for a bit to loosen it then ease it out of her fur. She does stil have dark patches though so may have to look into those wipes.

It cant be nice having a crusty build up!

Re: How Do You Look After Your Dog's Eyes?

I use Optrex eye wash to clean my lots eyes and have never had a problem with it. I also put a drop of applecider viniger in their food which is also supposed to help stop tear staining, it does seem lighten the tears a bit but nothing major tbh it was something another fellow exhibitor recommended to me.
I do find the Optrex works well though.

take care

Sarah

Re: How Do You Look After Your Dog's Eyes?

Oooh Optrex, I'd have never thought about that for dogs

I usually just bathe them at the moment, but I'll try some of those other methods, thanks!

My mum used to use cold black tea - but don't try that as it's perhaps a wivestale.
You can get eye wipe I believe from good pet shops

I give mine angeleyes in his food. Google it if you're interested, it's good stuff! They're still a bit yucky so I wipe under his eyes with warm flannel or a babywipe.
