Re: New husky pup

Hi he looks gorgeous. I have no experience with husky training but I would say find something that he does like, a toy for instance and a whole lot of patience. Reward him with play when he does what you ask him. The hardest thing will be finding what makes him tick. What are the kind of things you are having problems with? I am sure you will get plenty of advice on here.

Re: New husky pup

Congratulations!!

Do training before you feed him, so he is really hungry then hopefully he'll want to listen to get the food!!
Not all dogs are motivated by food - so it may be a case of identifying what is his motivator, my friends collie will do anything for a tennis ball

It takes buckets of patience, and it's not that they won't listen, it's more they don't know what we expect.

clicker training might work well with him - then you can pin point the wanted behaviour, even if he get's their by accident.

Re: New husky pup

hand feeding works brill cos not only are you in control of the food, you can make him sit, lie down.. before he gets a bit. and its no extra tit bits so hel learn to listen if hes hungry!
in no time you can have him doing tricks! :P lol
