Re: walks
wax paws, keep it short and high energy to keep core temp up and then back in to a bowl of warm wet food or warm milk?
that's what I've been doing with Biggles and it's what we used to do as kids in Germany my Granddad used to work his dogs down to -15 if only a short run and they would be keeping moving

Re: walks
I'm not a million miles from you and it was minus 16 here last night (in fact at the moment we haven't got any hot water as the tank in the loft is obviously frozen).
I have the same dilemma and daren't let the puppy and the youngster out together as the ground is frozen solid. It looks as if it might be puppy on her own and the three older dogs on the lead later. Hopefully this will be the last very cold day for the time being - thank goodness!! |
